Privacy policy for 5000
Last updated: 20 October 2026
5000 is a card game. This policy explains what information the game uses, where it goes, and what you can do about it. The short version: there are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and the game server keeps nothing once a game ends.
What stays on your device
These are stored only on your phone (or, in the browser version, in your browser's storage for the site):
- your name, your profile choices (avatar, title, frame, card back and similar cosmetics) and your settings
- your statistics, achievements and unlocked rewards
- saved games
The developer can't see any of this. Uninstalling the app (or clearing the site's data in your browser) deletes it. A Stats → Back up code is a copy of this data that you create and keep yourself; it's never sent anywhere unless you share it.
What is sent when you play online
When you tap Play online, the app connects to the game's server at cards.play5k.win and sends:
- Your name, which the other players at your table see. Names are checked against a list of offensive words, and the server refuses ones that fail.
- Your public profile: avatar, title, name style, frame, card back, card finish, win animation and up to three achievements you choose to show. Other players at your table see these.
- A summary of your stats, if Settings → Share my stats is on (it is by default): games played and won, best round, number of achievements and special-mode badges. Other players at your table can see it. Turn the setting off to stop sending it.
- A random device ID, created by the app, which lets you rejoin a game if your connection drops. It isn't linked to your identity, your phone's hardware IDs or any advertising ID.
- Your moves and reactions during the game. There's no text chat.
The server keeps this only in memory, only while your room is open. When a room closes, everything about it is gone. The server doesn't write games, names, profiles or stats to disk, and doesn't keep a database of players.
Your IP address is used while you're connected to limit how many connections and rooms one address can open (to stop abuse). It isn't stored. The server is reached through Cloudflare, which handles the connection and processes IP addresses to protect the site from attacks, under Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Wi-Fi games
Host on Wi-Fi and Join on Wi-Fi connect phones on the same local network directly. Your name, public profile, shared stats and moves go to the other phones at the table, and nothing goes to the internet.
Playing against bots and pass & play
These run entirely on your device. Nothing is sent anywhere.
Update checks (test builds only)
Test versions of the Android app installed outside the Play Store check GitHub for a newer version. GitHub sees your IP address for that request, under GitHub's privacy statement. Versions installed from the Play Store get their updates through the Play Store instead.
Things we don't do
- No accounts, passwords, email addresses or phone numbers are collected.
- No location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera access.
- No advertising, analytics or crash-reporting services.
- No selling or sharing of data with anyone.
Children
The game is suitable for all ages and doesn't knowingly collect personal information from anyone. The only thing other players can see is the name and cosmetics you choose, and names go through the offensive-word filter.
Changes
If the game starts collecting anything new (for example, sign-in with Google Play Games, friends lists or push notifications), this policy will be updated before that version is released, and the date above will change.
